Esperto Web Builder

Web Builder is a new service designed at small to medium sized companies that want to take their websites to the next logical step i.e. self-management.

The service provides a complete back office administration system so that pages and items of content can be added quickly and easily without the need for technical knowledge. Unlike many web building solutions, each content solution is customised for the needs of each company.

The Esperto Web Builder service is a fully managed service to you. It is not an online template-driven site builder or a standalone content management tool. We deliver a working site to you that you can expand and grow from day one.

Site Administration

The Esperto Web Builder back office is designed to be as easy to use as possible. Our principal is that the barriers to building a business website should be as small as possible. All administration is done through a standard Web Browser (preferably Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer).

The service therefore does not use a convoluted “content engine” or “workflow model”. You simply see your pages listed out, click on the one you want to edit, change the content and update it.

Changing content also couldn’t be easier; the system incorporates a rich text editor that provides word processor like functionality in your browser (Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer only).

Most importantly, creating new pages is even easier. Simply click on Add Page, provide a page name and click Create.

As well as standard pages, the system can build special parts of a website called “grouped items” that are repeating items of content. Typical uses of this facility are Client Case Studies and Navigation Bars.

You can also upload your own images and documents (Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word etc.) and create links around your site and to other websites.

Page Design
If you already have a website design that you are happy with, we can use that design as the template for your Esperto Web Builder site. In many cases we can actually bolt the administration system onto the back of an existing HTML site so that the site looks virtually identical; the only difference is that you can control the content.

If you don’t have an existing design we can use one of our existing templates and brand it to your business identity. Alternatively we can produce a completely custom design to your specifications or to the specifications of your regular graphic designer.

Initial Content
Unlike some online services we don’t believe in handing over an empty website that you have to populate yourself. Having some initial pages and content makes it much easier to visualise how you want your site to grow, and also means you can launch the site straight away.

If you already have a website we can use the text and pictures from there. If not then we can populate pages from content provided from you. We can even put pages together with Latin text to represent where new content needs to be written.

Training and Support
Before launching a new site we will email instructions on how to use the back office. Also included with the service is an initial telephone-based training session. This will be about 30 minutes and will cover all aspects of the back office.

On an on-going basis we provide technical support and advice by email. If at any time you wish to change your page designs or make a technical change outside the scope of the Web Builder system we would be happy to quote to do this.

Technical Details
When using the Esperto Web Builder service your website resides on our web servers. These servers are hosted in a high-speed data centre in London in a managed environment with redundant Internet connections.

We can advise you on how to change the web part of your domain name so that it points at our web servers. There is no need to change anything else; you can keep your existing email arrangements and Internet connection.

If you don’t have existing email arrangements we can also provide email boxes or email forwarding.
